Musical programme

This edition’s theme is Wonder & reflection in choral music and the chosen compositions want to produce a sensation of wonder, bringing the auditors out of the defined space-temporal context and, at the same time, producing a deep reflection about the texts.

In details, this is the musical programme:
James MacMillan (1959) – Miserere
Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) – Warum ist das Licht
Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992) – O sacrum convivium
Samuel Barber (1910-1981) – Agnus Dei
Frank Martin (1890-1974) – Songs of Ariel
Sverre Bergh (1915-1980) – And death shall have no dominion
Gregorio Allegri (1582-1652) – Miserere (rev. E. Correggia)

The course will develop different aspects related to choir conducting, focusing on the relevance of the rehearsal’s techniques, on the performance and on the interpretation, providing useful advices for a correct use of the voice.
