SCL Youth Festival Vienna

The annual Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival in Vienna provides under the aegis of Maestro Nikolaus Harnoncourt a uniqie platform for the world’s most talented youth choirs, bands and orchestras and to sets new standards in the festival arena.

The four-day Summa Cum Laude Festival includes both the Summa Cum Laude Competition as well as the Summa Cum Laude Celebration: Performing groups may compete with their peers in the prestigious SCL Competition or they may opt to participate in the non-competitive SCL Celebration. Ultimately, the finalists perform in the magnificent Musikverein in Vienna, one of the world’s three finest concert halls.

Additionally  all groups have the opportunity to participate in unique workshops. These workshops offer an inspirational occasion where individual groups as well as combined ensembles may qualitatively enhance their musical knowledge under the tutelage of distinguished lecturers. Furthermore, performing groups are invited to represent their home country and share its respective music to the Austrian public during additional concerts taking place in and around Vienna.
