Worcester Int. Festival for Young Singers

DATE: Friday 19 – Saturday 27 July 2013
LOCATION: Worcester, England, UK.

The Worcester International Festival for Young Singers (WIFYS) is the UK’s first-ever international youth singing festival, organised by Sing UK in association with the European Choral Association – Europa Cantat (ECA-EC).

A week-long festival of music, friendship and discovery awaits! Each visiting choir will have the opportunity to present 2 concerts, shared with one other choir, in churches within Worcester and the surrounding area; there will be street-singing and singing at local church services. There will be special concerts for all participants, including a welcome concert in the cathedral, and one by a professional choir, “The Songmen”. The Festival will close with a spectacular Gala Concert in the Cathedral involving all choirs and ateliers, and will include the world-premiere of Bob Chilcott’s piece “Five Days That Changed the World”.
